Already on the 18th day of fetal formation, two black "dots" are formed on the face, which determine where the eyes will be located.
Babies are born with only 5% of the vision of an adult.
At the beginning of its life, the little one can only distinguish very bright colors. The eyes have not yet developed the ability to focus objects at different distances, by straining the eye muscles or the so-called accommodation. It has not yet reached the ability of both eyes to see one image, not a double one. This is called convergence - the merging of the two eye axes into one optical axis. For its initial needs, this is quite enough. After all, it can recognize its mother's face and chest.
At the second month, it already has about 30% of the vision of an adult.
30% By the 6th month, it increasingly perceives the world around it as a small, big person.
Children's eyes have their own preferences for
The colours, first they recognize the red color, followed by blue, green and finally yellow. And hop, he is ready to draw the sun 🙂.
The visual acuity of children reaches 50% of that of adults, only at the age of 3, or simply put, he sees 50% less details than his parents, for example. So if you put him on the chair in the eye doctor's office, he certainly will not see all the symbols from the table on the wall.
And now that we have learned this and that about children's eyes, we will give you some advice if you are wondering if there is by any chance some problem with these innocent, angelic eyes:
-
The child fails to focus most of the time and his eyes wander. Yes, it is not just distracted.
-
It does not track objects and people.
Pity isn't it?! He was just thinking," can't I just throw things at him and he can carry them, he won't just throw everything out of the pen and I'll collect it" 🙂
-
It doesn't match your smile.
-
It does not track objects and people.
This is terrifying for me as a mother, pretending to be a clown all day and nothing 🙂 .
-
The sun causes them discomfort( tearing, squinting, redness).
And I thought , she cried with happiness as soon as she saw people outside.
-
Myopia, to put it another way, you see me :). Here it is important to know that up to the age of one year, children can curve, sometimes, their eyes. So , don't rush like me to think that its something.
-
He brings objects close to his eyes , as if trying to see them better.
Clearly if she looks like a grandmother , reading the Kaufland brochure without her glasses, it's time for an auntie doctor.

In a flash photograph, the pupil appears whitish. I don't want to imagine that.
On the other hand, the red pupil in the photo brings joy, it means that there are no congenital eye defects.
And yet, preventive examinations are necessary at the 6th month, 1 year, 3 years, 7 years.
For now, that's all for us, we'll stay here for you. Or until my motherhood is over and I dive back into the vast working environment.
In the next blog, we will touch on the topic of sunglasses, especially
the materials from which their lenses are made and introduce you to a favorite brand of mine.
